FoldUpTM Windows
Developing the FoldUp™ window was no simple endeavor. It required research and development to create unique hinges, balance systems, guides, locks, and seals. The goal was to make the window not only open very easily (requiring less force than a similar sized double hung), but to have the sashes hold open at any point through its travel.
Unlike most windows, there are many different and complex forces at work with FoldUp™ windows due to the changing orientation of the sashes throughout their travel. To accurately predict the forces and operating behavior as the window opens and closes, we solicited the services of a major US university to create unique mathematical models of the window’s components and motion.

These models continuously help to guide the development of all FoldUp™ windows. From the vast amount of useful information they generate, the three most factors achieved are ease of use, durability, and safety.
